PD: USPD: Reproduction of 1596 oil on canvas painting by Caravaggio (Michelanglo) Merisi): b. 1571. d. 1610. Italian master painter of mythological, religious, and genre scenes. Born Michelanglo Merisi an accomplished painter much revered and sought after by the elite, and influenced patrons of art. His life was caught between his artistic ability and his bouts of rowdy behavior, which led to stages of distress. This painting of Narcissus a Greek God of legend was so handsome he was sought after by many, which he in turn rejected until one day he walked by a pool of water and took a drink then saw his reflection in the pool and fell in love with his image, and realizing he could never have the image killed himself.
